Oceânico acquires golf resort in USA
Oceânico Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Little River Golf & Resort located in the heart of the Pinehurst area golf region in North Carolina, one of the most visited golf destinations in the United States.
The acquisition of Little River Golf & Resort, nestled in the Sandhills, which closed on 21 December, will see Oceânico Group make its first foray into the United States and follows the company’s €125 million purchase of five golf courses in Vilamoura, Portugal in 2007, including the renowned Victoria course.
Opened in 1996 in Carthage, North Carolina, Little River Golf & Resort includes 630 acres of rolling hills and features nearly 200-foot changes in elevation. On the course is a 20,000 square ft luxury club house, which overlooks the resort’s narrow streams and thick forests. Also part of the resort are 64 two bedroom apartments. Future development including a number of residential and holiday property is planned for Little River Golf & Resort and further details will be announced later in 2008.
